Colorado Social-Coupons

Lately, I’ve been seeing these “deal-of-the-day” or social-coupon websites.  This clever idea works like so:  You sign up on the website.   Once signed up, you’ll get a daily email that gives the particulars of the local discount available that day.  (These are substantial discounts on local attractions, restaurants, services, etc.)  If enough people agree to purchase the deal offered, everybody gets the discount coupon.  (Be sure to read the specifics on when the coupon is available to be used.)  Here are some of the more popular social-coupon sites.  Groupon and Living Social are available for many US cities including Colorado Springs and Denver (I haven’t found any for Pueblo yet).

Colorado Veteran’s Assistance

I received an email newsletter from US Senator Michael Bennet’s office stating that his office was creating a Veteran’s hotline and Veterans resource page in order to help Colorado veterans having difficulties receiving their veterans benefits.  These resources were created as a result of Senator Bennet’s state-wide Veterans Listening Tour where he heard first-hand the challenges veterans face wading through the Veterans Administration bureaucracy.
